The district administration in Indore has started the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that are now part of the municipal corporation. In 2014, these villages were included within the municipal limits. Residents who do not have a lease for their residential land or are heirs/transferees can now apply for a lease granting them land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently directed officials to facilitate this process. Currently, many landowners in these villages face difficulties in selling their properties or obtaining loans for construction due to the lack of proper registration or lease documents. Through a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020, residents can now apply for land holding rights and receive a 30-year lease. This will enable them to easily sell, transfer, or obtain loans against their properties. Camps will be set up at various tehsil offices on September 29, 2024, including Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia, to receive applications. After verification, eligible applicants will be granted the necessary leases. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore stated that online applications will be accepted during the camps, and applicants should bring specific documents such as utility bills, official government correspondence related to the property, property tax receipts, and details listed in the voter list.
